It started with a missing subscription charge.
In 2024, our founder sat at a kitchen table in Toronto, staring at three different spreadsheets — trying to figure out where the money went that month. Sound familiar?
The apps that existed were either too complicated to set up, didn't connect to Canadian banks properly, or sold user data to advertisers. None of them connected to Canadian banks properly. And none of them felt safe.
So we built TrackE5 — an expense tracker that connects to your bank via Plaid, uses AI to categorize every transaction automatically, encrypts everything end-to-end so nobody (not even us) can see your data, and understands both Canadian and American financial systems from day one.
We didn't build TrackE5 for accountants or finance professionals. We built it for everyone else — the student who just got their first job, the parent managing groceries for a family of five, the freelancer losing track of business expenses, and the retiree who just wants a clear picture of their spending.
Connect your bank for automatic tracking, snap a receipt for cash expenses, or type one in manually. However you spend, TrackE5 captures it. That was the goal then. It's still the goal now.
